FROM THE BALCONY: A PHOTO JOURNEY 🌦

INTRODUCTION

We are lucky enough to live on the top floor of an apartment, with a nice view (LaTorreDel Moro) and a not so nice view (An Electric Pylon) sitting directly in front of our balcony some distance away. Weather conditions against the foreground of the hill and the tower can be quite spectacular and if conditions are right the pylon can become not that boring at all. It would be silly not to try and capture some of this meteorological "theater"  that  happens from time to time. A longer lens to capture the Tower would be better but a 250mm Canon lens manages to capture enough detail. The photos in this gallery will be a record ,not actually of the two structures but of the exceptional shapes, forms, colors and shadows of the passing cloud formations against a background of sky and foregrounds of both power pylon and the tower. Most of these images are captured either early in the morning and in the evening when meteorological activity is stronger and colors more alive. Some of the photos I have stitched together to capture more detail and add space to the scenes.

Brooding clouds form close and heavy against the silhouette of La Torre

Depending on which way the wind is blowing we get different types of cloud activity and formations . In these photos ,which are  stitched together,  black and grey clouds race in from the ocean converging and meeting higher up the Montseny. These are ast moving winds NE to SE called Gregal winds ,often associated with storm systems .They  generate what is called  ornographic lifting , forcing the moist air upward, cooling it, which produces  the heavy clouds and rain over the Montseny Mountain. These clouds are  mostly  cumulonimbus formations and sometimes appear to be drawn to the tower before moving on. These scenes  are always changing, reating some spectacular and very unique perspectives.

Sometimes a passing cloud will appear to be probing  the tower like an inquisitive energy. I am not sure what causes this phenomenon...

Early morning🌞 A mixed arrays of colours and shadowsIt's almost impossible not to find figures, shapes and forms if you look close and long enough. I see an owl being chased by a giant monster fish!
